Digital Radiography

Radiographs or x-rays are often required during a dental exam to assess dental development, monitor pathologic conditions, and determine the presence of cavities.  Lodi Pediatric Dentistry makes use of digital x-rays which emit minimal radiation and scatter radiation.  Dr. Anisha is aware of the studies on the cumulative effects of radiation exposure in children and as a result does not routinely take radiographs.  Radiographs are taken after evaluation of a patient's dental history, caries risk and/or examination.  All necessary precautions are taken to protect vital organs with the use of lead aprons and thyroid collars.
